Try Space Food

As a kid I was obsessed with everything Space related.  I loved watching space movies, and coincidentally I went to a junior high school named after a shuttle that crashed in the 80's (points if you remember the name of it).  I remember watching a space movie that involved the astronauts eating space food.  I was so curious what space food tasted like, and how different it would be from normal food.

While visiting the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., I spotted some Space Food in the gift shop.  Ice Cream Space Food to be precise!  I purchased a package to save for dessert later in the evening.

When I opened up the package I found a light block of what looked like Neapolitan Ice Cream.   The Ice Cream is dehydrated of water, but thankfully when the slab is bitten into it does soften up.  I do still prefer the real stuff, but it is a great idea to have when camping, or if you are anywhere that you may not have easy access to a freezer.

See A Diamond That Is Worth More Than I Will Ever Make In My Lifetime

Diamonds are a girls best friend, and in the case of the Hope Diamond, it's a girls extremely, outrageously rich best friend.

The Hope Diamond has a permanent home in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington D.C.  The deep blue diamond is an enormous 45.52 karats!

It has been considered as the most famous diamond in the world (probably only second to the fake "Heart of the Ocean" from the movie Titanic).  

It has had several famous past owners like kings, sultans,  Harry Winston (who donated it to the Smithsonian), and Cartier.

The Hope Diamond is estimated to cost $250,000,000!   Definitely worth a visit to see this historical diamond for FREE at the Smithsonian!

Stand In The Spot Where Martin Luther King Jr Made His “I Have A Dream” Speech

On August 28th, 1963, just steps in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" Speech that changed history.  The speech became a defining moment in the civil rights movement to end racism in America.

From the Lincoln Memorial, to the Washington Monument, the area was filled with civil rights supporters and spectators.

The most powerful and likely most famous part of his speech was the following line...

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.  I have a dream today!"

I still get chills hearing that part of the speech.

I experienced similar chills when standing on the spot where he delivered that famous speech.

Our nation has not ended racism, but we are definitely a better nation in the equality front because of him.
