On August 28th, 1963, just steps in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" Speech that changed history. The speech became a defining moment in the civil rights movement to end racism in America.
From the Lincoln Memorial, to the Washington Monument, the area was filled with civil rights supporters and spectators.
The most powerful and likely most famous part of his speech was the following line...
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!"I still get chills hearing that part of the speech.
I experienced similar chills when standing on the spot where he delivered that famous speech.
Our nation has not ended racism, but we are definitely a better nation in the equality front because of him.
