So for a few years now Cathy and I have been wanting to plan a themed party. To make it happen we traded work schedules to find a good weekend to FINALLY host it. We decided on a "Summer" Theme party (we had to make it a bit easy on ourselves just cause it was our first time hosting such a party). I've hosted parties in the past, but certainly not this planned and organized. Our goal was to make everything from scratch!
Our tablescape! I can't believe we filled up the entire table!
Our giveaways. Sprinkled White Chocolate covered pretzels. It was hard not to eat them while we were making them.
Fresh Sunflowers from Trader Joes for $3.99. Score. Bought them the day before and they really opened up for the party.
Pizza Pinwheels for the kids (but I think the adults ended up eating most of it!)
Curried Chicken Tea Croissants (okay we didn't make the croissants, we got them at Costco, but we made the filling for them!)
Mixed Greens with Pecans, Goat Cheese and Dried Cranberries....officially my FAVORITE salad
Chocolate Covered Strawberries...who would have thought that melting chocolate would be the hardest thing we did!
Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crusted Coating...my favorite salmon dish!
We even made our own fruit bowl. No store bought fruit bowls for us!
Red Velvet Cake...see the other pictures of the cake here
We even recruited my friends cute newborn to our team
Date Accomplished: July 10th, 2010
