One of my favorite places to relax and hang out is La Jolla, specifically Prospect and La Jolla Cove. I have sat for hours at the Children's Pool plenty of times just watching the animals frolic in the water, but today I was determined to visit the pelicans. Plus there is nothing better than to visit the beach the day after a storm. I am constantly trying to challenge myself in photography, and the more variety and hands-on experience I get the better I will get too (I hope). Oh boy did I challenge myself today! Moving objects in general are difficult to capture, but birds...wow...now they are quick little suckers! I joked with fellow photographers at the cove that getting pictures of birds in flight consists of half talent and half luck (but in my case it was 10% talent and 90% luck!).
So without further adieu...my La Jolla Cove photos....

I think I like that first photo best. Impressive to catch the bird in flight!
These pictures are incredible! The colors in the bottom two are so rich and fun.
It was still gloomy for the first half of the day, so the bottom photos were taken when the sun finally came out.
One of the photographers yelled "Focus on the eye." I was lucky enough to get any part of the bird in the shot, forget the eye!
Beautiful images. I remember going to La Jolla and seeing the sea lions.
