The Del Mar Fair (now called the San Diego Fair) is a popular annual event that occurs in San Diego. It's home to crazy rides, free musical acts, and most importantly it is home to a large array of very unhealthy deep fried goodness.
They really have managed to deep fry just about anything these days...like Bacon, Klondike Bars, Candy bars, Oreos and even Butter! It clearly states in the County Fair Bible, "Thou shall make unhealthy food more unhealthy."
I've tried a few Fair deep fried goodies, but I typically take a few bites and fill sick to my stomach afterwards. One thing I really wanted to try was a deep fried twinkie, primarily because it was the first Fair Food that I had ever heard of (thanks a lot Mark Summers from Unwrapped).
"Did you want powdered sugar?"
Yes, Please.
"Did you want chocolate drizzled on top too?!"
Oh why the heck not, let's just make it more healthy!
And MMm..MmM...MmM....was it YUMMY! It definitely did not disappoint! I am surely going to be a deep friend twinkie repeater!
