What a lot of people don't know is that Budapest is pronounced Buda-pesht. One side is called Buda, the other side Pest, and it is separated by the Danube River. One of the most famous spots to visit on the Buda side is Buda Castle and Castle Hill. Since it located along the Danube River, you are treated with some of the best views of Pest.
But if you want the best view of both sides, this lookout point on the Buda side has the best of both worlds!
Fisherman's Bastion is one of the most visited spots on Castle Hill. It is easy to fall in love with the place, and fun to walk around the towers. The lookout towers are platforms for fabulous views. The Bastion is composed of 7 towers, each tower symbolizing one of the Magyar tribes that settled in the area in the olden days.
Castle Hill is definitely an amazing way to spend a day in Budapest!
