I was beginning to think that I lacked the DNA gene to have the ability to complete a journal. Growing up I had tons of journals, but all with just the first couple of pages scribbled in them. Just like a child getting sick of a toy, my unfinished journals were forgotten and merely tossed into a box never to be written in again.
When taking my big international trip in 2007 I wanted to change that and be able to fully document my experience. I found a light weight soft cover travel journal, and along with a good pen and some scrapbooking tape I was determined to finish an entire journal.
In almost a months time, I was able to complete the journal and fill it with some of my travel memorobilia like my London Tube Map, my coaster I saved from a beerhall during Oktoberfest, and my entrance ticket to the Colosseum. My handwriting went from being nice and neat, to a child like scribble as I neared the end.
I gave myself an imaginary standing ovation, a pat on the back, and a date with Ryan Gosling for a job well done.
Date Accomplished: October 3rd, 2007
